Hi Chloe! How was your overseas training experience like?

Training overseas is just a phase. It is indeed tiring and mentally draining. Having to wash my clothes and preparing my meals after a long day out in the water are physically tiring. Yet, spending time with my coach and other sailors everyday for a week or longer is not something I get to do daily back in Singapore. I get to know them better and in the end they become a part of my second family.

What does Sailing teach you about learning to lose?

There can only be a winner. There might be twenty or hundred boats, yet the toughest one wins. Just because I have lost the race, does not make me a loser. It goes to show that I have more room for improvement.

To truly understand what losing means, you have to lose first and then climb back stronger.
